SeekEasy
When was the last time you thought "I know the information I need is in my computer somewhere, but I just don't remember exactly where" ?
It might have been your cousin's wife's name, or the joke you can almost remember, or the fruitcake recipe someone emailed you years ago.
Whatever it is, if it's on your drive, SeekEasy can find it, quickly and easily.
SeekEasy is a free-form information-retrieval program that uses a "fuzzy-match" text-scanning algorithm. It will find things on
your hard drive when you don't remember exactly what you called them, or where you put them,
or even if you're not sure you had them at all.
When you request the information, SeekEasy will search through
all the files on your drive, or only the ones you specify. It will find the thing that most-nearly resembles what you requested.
And then the thing that next-most nearly resembles it, and the next-closest thing, etc. - up to 200 items. And it'll show the
text to you and allow you to scroll back and forth through the document it
was found in.
SeekEasy will run on computers with Windows 95, 98, and NT 4.0+.
You may download SeekEasy and try it out until you're ready to register it. It's a quick download, and it's easy to install.
